Frequently Asked Questions

Is Homeopathy Effective ?

There are high quality randomised clinical trials demonstrating that homeopathy is clinically effective beyond placebo and outcome studies which show that homeopathy works in practice. The Bristol Homeopathic hospital carried out a service evaluation involving recording the outcome of Homeopathic treatment in over 6,500 consecutive patients during a six year period. This showed that 70% of patients reported an improvement in their health.

What conditions do people consult a Homeopath about ?

Homeopathy is an holistic approach looking at the whole person not just a named disease.

People have consulted me with a wide range of conditions, physical as well as mental-emotional illness. These include recurrent infections (such as colds, ear infections, tonsillitis, cystitis) skin conditions, hay fever, menstrual and menopausal problems, chronic fatigue, migraine, depression, anxiety and insomnia. People have also sought Homeopathic treatment from me when dealing with emotional stress or major life changes such as moving home, a new baby, divorce or bereavement.

If you are unsure if Homeopathy is suitable for your condition please contact me so we can discuss it.

It is important to that we work alongside your medical practitioner to ensure that you have the best possible care. I may discuss with you a referral to another health professional if this in your best interests.

Will Homeopathic medicines interfere with my conventional medication ?

Homeopathic medicines work alongside the treatment you may be receiving from your doctor or other practitioner. It is important that you do not suddenly stop taking your conventional medication and stay in contact with your mainstream healthcare professionals.

How are Homeopathic Remedies made?

Homeopathic medicines are manufactured using a process combining serial dilution and succussion (vigorous shaking).

Homeopathic medicines are made mainly from plants and minerals, then highly diluted before adding to lactose tablets or sucrose pills. Homeopathic treatment has an excellent safety record and because homeopathic medicines are non-toxic, they can be used by babies, children and during pregnancy.
